I am always looking for ways to extend my team.
I am an academic with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). There I work for the Institute of Heritage Sciences (Incipit), where I specialise in the application of semantic technologies to cultural heritage research and management. This is quite a hybrid field with lots of software engineering and lots of humanities in it as well. The dominant paradigm, though, is engineering, and I am mostly interested in software or knowledge engineers who are willing to apply their skills and interests in a humanities field.
The areas of research we are interested in are:
- Conceptual modelling. Advanced structural modelling. Subjectivity and temporality modelling. Versioning. Featured-based modelling and emergent typing. Domain-specific languages for landscape and decoration.
- Method engineering. Method representation languages. Method enactment.
- User interfaces. 3D representation with variable level of detail. Entity streaming. Immersive environments. Virtual world environments for heritage information. Data entry interfaces. Query interfaces.
- Data structures and algorithms. Data culling and point cloud pattern recognition. Time representation as a dimension of data. Representation of space and terrain. Isotropic 3D.
I am based in beautiful Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia, Spain. This is a historical town with a large university and lots of things to do. Galicia is one of the least explored areas of Spain, especially by overseas visitors, and it may as well surprise you.
We are seeking top candidates at the research assistant, pre-doctoral and post-doctoral levels. We can offer different kinds of position depending on skills, expectations and seniority. If you would like to know more, please contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org at any time.
